  2. Did you ever want to create a place on your computer where nobody could 
  3. get to you data unless the new the "CODE"?
  4.  
  5. Well now you can have it with these directory utilities called 
  6. DIR SECURE!
  7.  
  8. You can now create directories that cannot be accessed by any DOS
  9. or Windows programs!!  (Some high level disk utilities can access these
  10. directories).
  11.  
  12. There are three directory utilities in this package:
  13.  
  14. CRTDIR:  Create directory
  15. CHGDIR:  Change directory
  16. RMVDIR:  Remove directory
  17.  
  18. To make a directory that cannot be accessed by DOS or WINDOWS programs
  19. the only thing that needs to be done is to create a directory with a
  20. blank or space in the name such as MY DIR.  Since this name has a 
  21. blank in it no DOS commands can create or access this directory.  To
  22. DOS this directory cannot exist!

  24. There are also many disk/file utilities that cannot get in these
  25. directories.  Some can some cannot.  Windows programs cannot
  26. access these directories. Windows File Manager can look in the 
  27. directory but cannot access the contents of the directory!

  29. This is great if you want to send a person a disk with information
  30. you do not want anyone else to see. That person will also need this
  31. directory utility package.

  35. Place these programs in a directory that is in your PATH statement
  36. in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file so that these commands can be accessed from
  37. any directory on your computer. A good directory to place these commands
  38. in would be your DOS directory since this directory is usually in your
  39. path statement.

  44. ... CREATE: CRTDIR   Basic Syntax:  CRTDIR <[Drive] [Directory]>

  46. ... To create a directory type in CRTDIR <NAME WITH A SPACE> and press enter
  47.  
  48. ... CHANGE: CHGDIR
  49.  
  50. ... Now to change to that directory to copy in files to it you want to
  51.     keep private type in CHGDIR <NAME WITH A SPACE> and press enter.

  53. ... REMOVE: RMVDIR
  54.  
  55. ... To remove the directory first all the files must be deleted from in the
  56.     directory. To do this change to that directory as shown above.

  58. ... Type in RMVDIR <NAME WITH A SPACE> and press enter.

  60. Example for a floppy disk drive: CRTDIR A:\MY DIR
